The Data Management Fundamentals three-day onsite or live, online training addresses all of the Data Management disciplines as defined in the industry standard, DAMA International Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK v2). Taught by a certified and approved DAMA instructor, this course provides a solid foundation of the different disciplines across the complete Data Management spectrum.
Day 1: DAMA DMBOK part 1
During this first day, we will discuss the new role of Data (“data as an asset”). The development of the Modern Data Architecture and the far-reaching personalization of Data & Analytics requires (much) more control over data. DAMA DMBOK provides tools to create this grip.
On this day we will explore the backgrounds of DMBOK as a framework and deepen the content of the topics Data Architecture, Data Governance, Data Warehousing & Business Intelligence, Metadata & Master Data.
The day will be concluded with a workshop in groups of 4 participants to immediately translate what has been learned into your own practice.
Day 2: DAMA DMBOK part 2
The 2nd day deepens the topics:
– Reference and master data management
– Data Modeling & Design
– Data Storage & Operations
– Data Security
– Data Interoperability
– Data quality
During the day there are several short workshops.
Day 3: DAMA DMBOK part 4 & Data Management Maturity Model
The 4th day deepens the topics:
– Data quality
– Document & Content Management
– Big Data & Data Science
– Data Privacy & Ethics
– Data Management Maturity Model (DIY)
We use the second half of the day to look back at the results of previous days (both on the content of the methods and on the workshops), whereby, based on the participants’ needs, topics and/or the cohesion of themes can be further explored. This takes the form of workshops or discussions. For this third day, the trainers provide additional study material, where necessary and desired, in the form of books, articles, white papers, etc. Finally, the participants will be asked to provide feedback on the training received.
