Los Angeles (August 14, 2019) — With the help of ExistBI’s Informatica Consulting team, PeaceHealth recently updated their Informatica systems to mitigate operational and data warehouse issues.
The purpose of the upgrade was to move Informatica software tools to the latest version of Informatica PowerCenter that is supported by the vendor and a version that runs on a supported version of Windows OS. Currently on Win2003. This will also move from 32-bit architecture to 64-bit. The current Informatica version was 3 major releases out of date and unsupported which left PeaceHealth requiring professional assistance to upgrade.
Informatica was also releasing another version that is compatible with SQL 2017 and Windows 2016 in September 2018 and the project targeted coming to this latest version as a part of the upgrade.
Risks if this upgrade was not implemented: Failure to update this application and its servers would have impacted the future movement of enterprise applications as they progress. The customer was experiencing delays in the ETL from their new servers into the Enterprise Data Warehouse which attributed to this software being outdated and no longer supported.
An experienced Informatica Consulting resource led the upgrade team to successful completion. The customer was very satisfied by the level of professionalism and knowledge the ExistBI team showed in the complex upgrade project and Is more than happy to be a reference.
